Moment 4 Life

Well, I had a bit of a roller coaster week so I am happy for a fresh start! I'm going to visit my sis, Megan, for her birthday this week :) In true American spirit, I have been watching the Olympics and rooting for our country. All I have to say is: Ryan Lochte. He is a swimmer and one of the most beautiful creations of the human race. His only flaw is that he is a Gator. I guess there is always trouble in paradise. LOL

Last night, Michelle and I went to the Nicki Minaj concert! I bought the tickets about a month ago as an impulse buy and knew immediately we had to have wigs so we could look like Nicki. She put on an amazing show and the whole thing was like a giant dance party. A lot of people dressed up in neons of all colors, tutus, and some of the craziest heels I have ever seen! Inner Geek

So, I'm going to take the next few sentences to be a geeky fan. As everyone knows, I am a huge hip hop fan. What you may not know is who my favorite rapper is. I will end the suspicion for you by letting you know it is Eminem. I think he is probably freakin' insane in person, but an amazing rapper none the less. An artist new to me, and very talented as well, is Lecrae. He is a Christian rapper who is a born Texan and my current obsession.

I had some friends over for dinner Saturday night and managed to snap a few shots before my guests arrived. I believe the key to a good get together, among many things, is good food. Remix!

I read a great article in Independent Fashion Bloggers about trying to remix your blog to keep readers interested. So here goes my remix... I thought I'd shed some light on being single in Texas. I find myself torn between wanting to be a independent, single woman and a loving, adorable wife. If you live in Texas, you know someone is getting married every freakin' weekend. And Facebook doesn't help because everyone posts pictures and updates statuses. Don't get me wrong, I am very happy for these individuals and wish them a great marriage, but that jealousy gets me everytime. You know what I'm talking about. The I-wish-I-was-her jealousy that every woman has about another. Call me idealistic, but sometimes I wish we could all just get along. But hey, competition makes the world go round doesn't it?

Random Thoughts

Random thought for your Monday: What did people do before the internet? No really. I use it for EVERYTHING and can't imagine life without it. Okay, maybe I'm being a bit dramatic but think about it. You use the internet all day. But I must say, I'm glad we don't use carrier pigeons anymore. I would be too impatient to wait for that damn bird. Or think about what you would wear if you lived then. Corsets and big skirts. That'd be so hot! Oi!!

I got this dress from the Limited and wear it to church often. I love the subtle pattern and how the waist cinches at the right spot. I thought the shot of my hair was pretty cool. We attempted to show I had a braid in, but the lighting isn't right. Oh, well.

Romp Around!

Today is my second day of work! The first day went well, it wasn't too busy but I was able to ring up a few customers. For my day off, I went to yoga with mom and helped her at the charity she works with, New Friends New Life, which is an organization that helps women get out of the sex trafficking industry. After that, I had a nice get together with some girlfriends and we were able to vent about life. I'm so blessed by my friends!

This is a romper I got from Express and is great for dressing up or down. I went with the option of dressing up for this post and paired the romper with my fave stilettos.  I love the jewelry for this outfit as well. The necklace is Anthropologie and the ring is from a small boutique in Fayetteville, Arkansas. Hope everyone is having a great day... it's almost the weekend!

First and Ten

While I am a fan of fashion, I also share a deep alliance to football. I can't WAIT for football season in a month and a half! I'm having withdrawls. For real. What I love about football season is the competition that starts among friends and foes, the sundresses I used to wear to football games, and the game watching parties! I'm not sure about the Cowboys, but I know the Bulldogs are predicted to do well this season. Which means awesome parties!

 I adore this shirt! It was a gift from my sis and is from Forever 21. It is the most difficult thing to get into but once it IS on, it looks great. And anything resembling animal print I love, so of course I think the pattern is immaculate. The shoes are my most comfortable pair of stilletos ever. I got them at DSW and they've held up well! We've been everywhere together.

Polka Dots

So I start my job today! I'm so nervous/excited. Nerves because I want to do well but excited because it's a job in an industry I'm interested in. During my day off yesterday, I got a pedicure with my mom and downloaded some B.O.B. and Bad Meets Evil. Both albums are great and I'm going through my obsessive listening phase with both of them.

This dress is one of my faves because it's so happy and summery. I'm happy to see polka dots are trending this season. Again, I'm wearing my vintage necklace, which has become a staple piece in my wardrobe. It just matches with everything! Another staple piece in my closet has been my ALDO wedges. I've been jonesing for a new pair of shoes, so maybe I'll visit ALDO and get some :) Happy Tuesday everyone!

Puzzles with Pictures

I finally got my baby back from Best Buy! Yes, I am talking about my laptop. The poor thing had a virus. This 5 day seperation made me realize I am addicted to my computer. My friend Bridget and I did a photo shoot at her apartment complex for these next few outfit posts. We had a great time and she was fun to work with! It's always fun to watch how other people's creativity comes out.

This dress is from Pitaya. I love how fun and flirty it is and it's pretty comfy as well. Nothing like finding the perfect match in comfortable and fashionable. The necklace is yet another purchase from Francesca's and I thought it added some pizzazz to the dress. And last but not least are my trusty ALDO wedges, which shout out to ALDO for all the tweets! Y'all are so sweet. Well I hope everyone has a great Monday evening and congrats! You made it through work on Monday ;)

TGIF!

So I knew sooner or later, I would end up talking about or putting up a picture of  my dear cat, Deion. She is in fact named after Neon Deion aka Deion Sanders of the Dallas Cowboys. I want to name all of my pets after football players so here is pet #1. She's a Calico and super sweet and social. Anyway, she woke me up at 5:30 am this morning. Luckily, I was able to go back to bed for a few hours before she woke me up again. Stupid bitch.

I stole/borrowed this shirt from my sis and am obsessed with the pattern. If you know me, then you know I love patterns and color. I stole my shorts from yesterday and wore them again today since they match so well with the shirt. The feather earrings bring out my inner hippie child and add some flare to the outfit. TGIF and everyone have a fun and safe weekend!
