Dress Up

Random fact of the day: I've got a not so secret crush on Katy Perry. I just watched her on Jay Leno and thought she seems so polite and down to Earth. I would love to style her one day! She takes fun risks with her clothing and I love her style. Your loss, Russell Brand. As far as me, I'm enjoying spending time with my sister and have just been hopping from one activity to the next! I'm ready for an action filled weekend with friends.

I fell in love with this dress when I saw Emma Watson wear it to an award show. The dress is Valentino, oh if only I had somewhere to where it! I thought the nude accesories complimented the dress but didn't overpower it.Also, I love the bow and think the combo of the bow and lace make for the perfect feminine combo.

If only I had somewhere to wear this....

This next look features my favorite trend of the season: peplum! It's a fun way to accent a dress or skirt.  I can't go without mentioning the shoes who are by Matiko Echo. They're so fun and colorful and I think I'm in love!

As always, have a lovely day!

Peplum fun!

Kickin' It Poolside

So last night I went to the Life in Travel Happy Hour and had a blast! It was full of the Dallas fashion elite and was held at the immaculate Joule Hotel in downtown. Despite the heat, my friend and I were able to meet some nice ladies who shared our love of fashion. We talked about shoes for about 15 minutes! Toward the end, I was able to meet Hanh herself and asked her a few questions about blogging. I must say she is a sweetheart and very sincere.

I wore a dress I stole from my sister (borrowed.... I mean borrowed) and wore my trusty Aldo wedges, which have become a bit of a good luck charm. I wanted the wavy beach curls so I curled my hair with a 2 1/2" curling iron. Hope you are enjoying your day!

Summer Time

Oh, girls night. Gossip, vodka and Diet Coke, hair dying, and general fun. I'm always happy when my sis is in town and these few days with her are no exception. I'm diligently hunting down a job and balanacing my social life. I'm going to Life in Travel's Happy Hour tonight. I'm so excited and hope I can corner her to ask a few blogger questions.

So I found a new toy to play with, Polyvore. It's like playing  paper dolls for grown ups. Below I added my casual looks (my dressy creations will come tomorrow) for the summertime. I loved the boho band for the hair and think this outfit rocks!

This look was inspired by my sister, Megan. She recently returned from London and I made this outfit for her. She and I are both Jefferey Campbell fans so I'm obsessed with the shoes, as is she. This outfit may not work logically for Texas, but I bet it would rock the streets of London.

I hope you all have an awesome day and kick some ass at work!

Pattern Princess

I just had the most amazing evening with my dear sister and her friend Brooke. I made a spinach artichoke mac n cheese and Megan made her infamous deviled eggs. Thank you Pinterest! You provide us with so many fun recipes. But seriously, I had a great night and I haven't laughed this hard in a long time.  PS I can't wait for football season to get here!

I love the pattern of this skirt. I'm a big pattern person. They make life more fun! I wanted to keep the focus on the skirt, so I dressed down the rest of the outfit. You can't go wrong with a denim jacket and nude wedges. Hope everyone has a fabulous day!

Homeward Bound

My sister comes home from London today!!! She's been gone a month but it feels like longer. She's obsessed with the Beatles (her cat is named Sargeant Pepper) and was able to go see Abbey Road. Oh, and she studied while she was over there ;) As for me, I plan to go see "Lola Versus" tonight with some friends and am getting my hair did today!

This is a nice weekend look, nothing too fancy. I love the lace trend that's going on right now and thought I'd add a little color with a sea green tee underneath. Then I paired the shoes, which are my latest find from DSW, and thought the coral would add a nice pop to the outfit. I decided to play up my hair a bit and am open to any suggestions for fun hair tips if you want to leave any sites on here. Happy Friday everyone!!!

Modern Princess

This blogging world is just so new to me! But I really love it. It's a great way to get my creative juices flowing and everyone has been so supportive. Aldo even complimented my outfit on Twitter! A great source I've found for the business and techincal side of blogging is Independent Fashion Bloggers.

The skirt you are about to see is one of my favorite purchases of all time (outside of my Beauty and the Beast shirt I wore when I was 5). It's from Forever 21 and makes me feel like a princess. To dress it down I added my mom's denim jacket and went a little punk rocker with the shoes, to give it an edge. Enjoy your day and stay in the AC if ya can!

Inspirations

I had the idea last night to make an inspiration blog. So below, I've placed some pics that inspire me. A picture, we know, can speak voumes and each picture is special to me in some way. It's not so much the person in the picture but what they represent to me. Here we go and have a great day!

Mini Blazer

Well, I have managed to stay busy these last few days via job hunting, life searching, and art projects. I'll have to post the final masterpiece once I have finished. My new mission on the job front is to find a retail or Starbucks type job. If you know anyone who is hiring, holla at me!

I love mixing dressy with casual so I grabbed this mini blazer, which is a great alternative to a regular blazer in this June heat. The necklace is a find from a high school mission trip in China. Needless to say, I've had the necklace to quite a while! As always, have a fabulous day :)

California Dreamin'

Oh, my goodness! My cousin got married this weekend and I can't say enough how happy I am for Justin and Nicole! The wedding was in an immaculate vineyard in Temecula, CA. The bride looked gorgeous, champagne was drunk, and everything was fabulous.  And THEN, my sister gets back from London this Friday! I'm so excited to see her. She's only been gone for a month but I missed her. Oh, and last, a shout out to daddy's everywhere for Father's Day (but I have the BEST one).

So I got this top in Soho (one of my favorite spots in the world) and it's just a fun summer tee. The shoes are my current obsession, these sandals I scored from DSW for $25. I just love a good bargain! Of course, it wouldn't be me without some bling so I added the bracelet. I know Mondays suck, but hang in there and have a great day!
